CDCIDA Data Center Heat Recovery Exchange was held in CEICloud

On June 15, 2017, China Data Center Industry Development Alliance (hereinafter referred to as CDCIDA) held the "Data Center Heat Recovery Exchange" in CEICloud Beijing Yizhuang Data Center.The exchange was hosted by Zheng Hong, Secretary General of CDCIDA.During the period, experts from various fields of the data center industry listened to the CEICloud data center heat recovery technology and achievements report.

The IT electricity usage in the data machine room dispersing in the heat in the form of server components. For a long time, the heat emitted from the server power consumption was discharged into the natural environment, which had not been effectively used.And in order to discharge the server heat, considerable power shall also be consumed.Power for server cooling is basically equivalent to 20% to 60% of that for IT, even higher in some old rooms.It should be said that the heat recovery of data room in the data center operation is the energy recycling technology as important as the use of natural cold source, improving the cooling efficiency and other energy-saving technologies.

The technology application that CEICloud Beijing Yizhuang Data Center uses heat pump unit for the heat recovery is the pioneer in the energy recycling of the data machine room.In heat pump operating conditions in the winter, heat pump unit could extract heat from the returning chilled water of the data machine room and output 45℃ hot water for winter heating of 40,000 square meters of heating area covering other buildings in the park and the public area within the data center. In the case of less heating needs at night, the storage tank could also be used for heat storage for daytime use.In the summer cooling conditions, the heat pump unit could be used for refrigeration and could be used as part of the redundant configuration of the data center cooling system.Moreover, electricity valley period could be used for accumulation of cold for cool storage tank in the night to ensure the cooling capacity savings.
